Hi everyone! Steph (islandmom) with my first post here on the blog and I am so excited about my project I have to share! I am really LOVING acrylic albums right now! They are so much FUN!
On this project, I used HER ROYAL HIGHNESS album by Dani and Emily. I LOVE this album and thought it would be perfect for an album for my pre-teen daughter!
Other supplies you will need: an acrylic album (I used an 8×8), glue, coordinating embellishments such as ribbons, brads, flowers, buttons, and bling stickers. I also used some white rub-ons, some black paint, and the new Zig fast drying Painty Twin pen (in black and white).
The trickiest part of this project is the digital part…lol. You need to know how many pages you will need by looking at your acrylic album. My album had 5 pieces of acrylic (including front and back covers), so I knew I needed 10 pages (I didn’t end up using one of them because I painted the back of the cover). When adding photos to the album pages, you need to make sure you have pages going the opposite direction of the page it will back up to. The pages come numbered in the digital file, to help with this!
After printing and cutting the album out, take a few minutes and place the pages on the acrylic album (but don’t glue yet), so you know the order and know that everything lines up like it should.
Now is the FUN part…adding embellishments! I used a dry brush to brush black paint on the back of the cover. I did this because I didn’t like how the pictures lined up through the cover and I thought it was distracting…you don’t need to do this if you don’t want to. After adding my brads and flowers, I glued the cover down and used the white rub-ons and pen to decorate the cover.

I continued to add goodies to the rest of the pages and then line them up with the other pages (so I liked the view through each layer of acrylic and so on). Once I was happy with the look of everything, I glued each page down.

The last thing I did was draw a scalloped edge around each layout once it was glued down with my white pen. After everything had dried, I added ribbons on the rings.
The most important thing is to HAVE FUN!!! :0)
