Hi! I’m Sara and I’m delighted to introduce myself to you as one of Dani’s new Altered Girls!  …yes, another Sara on the team! I’ll be signing myself as SaraL to hopefully avoid any confusion.

I live in the UK with my husband and our completely gorgeous six-year old boy, Alex.  I volunteer as a classroom helper at his school, and one day hope to graduate to being a classroom assistant, which is effectively the same thing but you get paid!  I’ve been crafting for about two years now and predominantly make cards (though I do occasionally like to alter things, other than card, just for a bit of variety).

As the title of this blog post suggests, we hope to make the last Thursday of each month ‘Card Day’ here on the Girl Talk blog, when we aim to share at least two cards made using Dani’s beautiful kits, to hopefully inspire you even further!

So without any further delay, here is the first card, made using Dani & MandaBean’s new 2 scoops kit: Don’t Rain On My Parade:

I thought you might like to also have a peek at these additional cards, which I recently added to the gallery: one straight forward and one a little more fiddly, with plenty of seed beads doubling for cake sprinkles!

My dear hubby takes his coffee to work everyday and I realized this week that his cup is still decked out with a Christmas themed insert.  Is it really almost March?   Anyways, his cup is definitely overdue for a make over so I made this one for him.

Hey, there is a life outside scrapping.  Right?  Ok maybe not, but sometimes I like to pretend I have a real life.

One of the things I love to do (or at least to love to do before I got old and started falling asleep anytime I sat still) is READ.

I just finished a hilarious book called ‘The Non-Runners Marathon Guide for Women’. Not only hilarious, but clearly inspirational, as I’ve signed up to run a half marathon in September. Eek. Wish me luck.

Another cool site I’ve found recently is Good Reads. Your friends rate the books they’ve read and you get updates as to what they are reading, and more. It’s a fun time waster!

What are YOU reading? I need a new book now that I’ve finished the marathon one!

Oh and watch this… I can even get this post back to scrapbooking! Did you know Dani had a Twilight inspired kit? It’s a Triple Dip with Traci Reed and Shawna Clingerman and it’s FUN!!
