Hello! SaraL here with a couple of good luck card ideas to share with you – both with a masculine feel to them.
This first one is made with Dani’s two-scoops collaboration with MandaBean: Happy Camper.

As you can see I used a common place saying for the main focus of the card, and complemented with the wood effect paper and alpha from Happy Camper, I think it works rather well. I made a basic word cloud behind the ‘touch wood’ sentiment incorporating more common phrases like ‘good luck’, ‘fingers crossed’, ‘best wishes’ etc.,simply to add another layer of interest to the card. I did this by adding the text to my background paper in Photoshop just as you would normally, and then using the eraser tool to soften the edges. After adhering to my card I added my final embellishments of frayed string secured with staples and a button.
My second card also uses a common phrase as its focus – and again Dani’s designs inspired the card. The paper, elements and alpha are all from one of my all-time favourite kits: Imagination

As you may just be able to see, I again added additional text to the central background paper. It simply says ‘tick tock’ over and over again, plus I replaced the letter ‘o’ in all the words with one of the gear elements, all to emphasise the clockwork theme of the card. Finally, how can anyone resist that fabulous gear paper that I used in the background layer? Love it! I used a felt shape for a final tactile accent to the card.
Ready for something other than a card? I have to admit to being a Twilight fan, and in preparation for seeing the second movie of the series in November, I am starting to re-read the books (again!). Instead of using my usual plain old piece of paper, I decided to make myself a proper, themed bookmark. Silly, but hey, why not? …and of course I knew the perfect kit for the job: Love Bites by Dani, Traci Reed and Shawna Clingerman:

I added a little red glitter glue and some black hearts punched out from black glittery card (just because I felt like it!), and then laminated them for durability.
Finally, did you see my Halloween banner made with Dani’s new kit Monstrosity? This is such a great monster kit – and I have plans for a non-spooky card for next month to share with you, but in the meantime this Halloween decoration was so straight forward to make, I wanted to show it to you again!

I simply printed out multiple copies of the images I wanted onto card and cut them out. I then used blue-tack (repositionable, lo-tack adhesive gum) to stick long length of raffia and the images to my wall. I could have used glue to adhere the stars etc to the raffia and then pins to stick it to my wall, but this was quicker and didn’t leave me with holes in my wall! The finished banner is about 2.5feet long. Have a go, and take a pic so we can see what you come up with!
Ooo, one very last thing: Did you know Dani had been featured in The Daily Digi this month? You should definitely take a peek!
Enjoy your month!
