Countdown Calendar
I saw this little gem at my LSS and KNEW I had to make one!! At first, I thought I would put some little candy inside for the kids, but then, I came up with a better plan…I am going to fill it with a “Christmas Spirit Challenge” for each day (things like; do a chore for a sibling, write a note to a grandparent about why you love them, make a family members’ bed, straighten a room for your mom, etc.). I will put them in there randomly, because that will be more fun for the kids if I don’t know what is coming. I hope this will help them focus on giving of themselves rather than just buying something for people (or on receiving something..haha).
Supplies: I used the Karen Foster Countdown Calendar (if you do a google search on that, you will find several online stores that carries them).

I also used Dani’s new “Holiday Spirit” kit, which I LOVE and is full of holiday wonderment!!!
Directions:::
-I made a new 12×12 canvas in Photoshop and created some guides (click on the ruler and then drag downward, a transparent blue line will show up, drag it to the 1.5 inch mark and then drop). I spaced them 1.5 inches both verically and horizontally.
-Next, I dropped the numbers (0-9) on the canvas.
-Select all of the number layers (hold the shift or ctrl key down while clicking on each layer)
- resize the numbers so they are 1″ high
-print (I printed at Costco with a lustre finish).
-next, cut the numbers into 1.5 inch squares.
-use the drawer as a guide for placement of the half circle punch (I used a 1/2 inch punch and it left a little excess that I filed away with my Basic Grey file set).
-Add any other embellishments you may want (I found some brads at my LSS that coordinated perfectly) and then glue in place.
Finished product:::

Have a GREAT day!!!

Well I’m going to need to do some more research, but this is a really good spring board.

Reading this made me think of a quote. It’s something like: “All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.” Amerindo Arron Emerson
